One way to have kids provide feedback to each other is through a fun format I refer to as the Musical Chair Share! Students place their piece of writing at their seat with the handout (see below) beside their piece. Play music and have students meander throughout the classroom. When the music stops, they find the piece and provide feedback to the writer. Provide approximately 5 minutes for students to read and respond (depending on the age of the writer and length of the piece). Continue 3-5 rounds as time permits.

Options: Have each student leave a specific question on a sticky note beside their piece to solicit specific feedback tailored to the writer's needs.
Use this format for students to share projects they are working on and leave the final space on the sheet for you (the teacher) to provide feedback to the student.
